Abstract Emerson, Sarah P. (Byam)

After an illness of several months duration bravely and patiently borne, Mrs. Sarah P. (Byam) Emerson widow of J. Bradford Emerson entered into rest Saturday afternoon, passing away at the family home where she had lived the greater part of her married life. Mrs. Emerson was the daughter of Henry and Relief Spalding Byam and born in this town, Oct. 3, 1834. She was of a family of 6 children of whom 3 now survive and her childhood home was the farm now owned and occupied by her brother and situated on the Southerly side of Robin's Hill.

On Sept. 9, 1866, she married Joseph Bradford Emerson. Three children survived. They are Fred. A. of Lowell, Walter B., Edith W., teacher in Somerville. Surviving brothers and sisters are Mrs. Ann R. Adams, Mrs. George A. Byam, and Charles W. Byam. -
